If you are a Christian like me, I'm sure you can answer with a definite, Yes. As we grow daily, we discover that challenges are a common part of life. Jesus said: 'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.' Jn. 16:33. I believe that challenges are part of God's strategies to keep us on our toes, to keep us awake and alert. Why? Because when we are too comfortable, we begin to be complacent. We enter into a comfort zone, a rut, where everything is just okay and any change becomes a chore. We become extremely reluctant to switch the status quo because everything is just right, just the way we like it. But God wants us to move. He knows when we have gone round a mountain long enough and when it's time to move to the next level. So He comes along and pulls the carpet off from under our feet. It's Testing Time. But it's also a time to move from examination to promotion.
